The world disasters involving crude oil seem to just keep getting worse. In China, an Oil Pipeline exploded last week on the shoreline of an import terminal located at Dalian. The official government estimate on the size of the spill is approximately 400,000 gallons.

The import terminal at Dalian may be one of the locations the Crude Oil planned for transport through the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline from the Tar Sands of Alberta to Kitimat and the Douglas Channel.

If there were a spill at Kitimat, similar to what has recently happened in China, the attached pictures might provide a fair representation of how things could look on the shores around Kitimat and all along the Northwest BC Coast. Every tanker planned for transport of this oil to China from Kitimat, 225 every year, will carry between 50 and 85 million gallons of crude; more than 100 times the estimated size of this spill in China.

The Joint Review Panel is beginning its work this month for public input and comment sessions. The topics on which the panel will be considering is currently the first item for discussion. As the JRP states they invite the public to comment on specific issues related to the application and the hearing process. The deadline to participate in this is fast approaching. Albertans opportunity to add topics to the agenda is one week away. For Kitimat and Prince George panels there is just four weeks. See all the requirements to participate by referring to our story posted HERE.

If you wish to read a radical, biased and clearly Government and Big Industry financed propagandist media organizations rant using inflammatory language such as "Superannuated hippies have controlled the urban discourse" and making statements like "It’s been a great week for our oceans."
