COMMENTARY · 29th June 2010
Walter McFarlane
I’d like to take a second to honour a few people who hold what is, in my mind anyway, the most important job in the world. I’d like to take a second to thank those human spit ball targets we all call teachers for all the hard work they do in what is probably the most thankless job on the planet.

Preparing generations to come for the challenges that lie ahead whether they know it or not. If you see, know or are a teacher, take a second to thank them for all they have done this past year for the future.

Graduating / Retiring this year from the teaching profession in Kitimat are:

Elaine Drinkwater from Mount Elizabeth Secondary School

Robert Goffinet from Nechako Elementary School

Dennis Horwood from Nechako Elementary School

Robert Irwin from Mount Elizabeth Secondary School

Janise Johnson from Kitimat City High

Manuel Luis from Kitimat Maintenance

Francis MacKenzie from Nechako Elementary School / North Coast Distance Education

Doug Thomson from Mount Elizabeth Secondary School

Thank you for all that you have done. I hope you never stop teaching.
