REPORTING · 21st June 2010

Two local vendors, Frito Lay Canada and Pepsi Bottling Group have both recently released advisement notices. Both have had fraudulent coupons made on some of their products.

Frito Lay released a notice for a fraudulent coupon which states that you will receive a free bag of Doritos chips any flavour up to $5.00 value. Everything else on the coupon looks real, but the coupon was not created, authorized or distributed by Frito Lay Canada or Frito-Lay North America.

Frito Lay Canada is not reimbursing any retailer who accepts the coupon. This coupon is seen to have an expiration date of 12/31/10, so these will have to be kept on lookout for the duration of the year. If you have any further questions on the Doritos fraudulent coupons, contact their consumer line at 1-800-376-2257.

Pepsi Bottling Group also released a similar notice. The coupon which they are warning companies and stores about is for a free twelve pack of any flavour of Pepsi products, up to a $5.99 value. Again everything on the coupon looks real enough and even has a working scan bar, but the coupon was not created, authorized, or distributed by Pepsi Beverages Company.

This coupon began in the US but was made available through the internet and is now circulating Canada. The expiration on this coupon is seen to be 12/30/10 and will also need to be kept on watch for the duration of the year.

Pepsi Bottling Group also warns retailer that they too will not be reimbursing any retailer who accepts this coupon. If you have any further questions on the Pepsi 12 pack fraudulent coupons contact a Pepsi Sales Representative.
