Martin Gould, Recreation Director, took the stand at the City Council Meeting on June 7th to present two awards granted to the District of Kitimat.
“Recently, at the British Columbia Recreational Parks and Programs, The District of Kitimat was recognized for an award for the building of the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre, for renovation and bringing an old facilty back to life,” said Gould.
They were also given an award for partnerships in recreation: they were recognized with Northern Health for their partnership. Mayor Joanne Monaghan was invited to accept the awards.
Gould explained the Recreation Department was also recognized with another award from BC Building Society for the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre. The award was on the way.
Monaghan thanked everyone for the work they have done on behalf of Kitiamt.
