REPORTING · 29th May 2010
Walter McFarlane
The Korean War lasted for three years, the series M*A*S*H for ten seasons. Unfortunately, the High School Musical Theatre class is only putting on their Rendition of Richard Hooker’s Novel for one more night. Mount Elizabeth Theatre was packed for opening night on Friday, May 28th and the repeat performance is set for Saturday, May 29th.

The play follows the antics of the crew from the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. Jeremy Milne stars as Hawkeye, Gavin Edwards as Trapper and Andrew Eastman as Duke share the stage with characters familiar to fans as such as Henry Blake played by Benjamin Thorne, Burns played by Devon Amaral and Houlihan played by Sarah Allan, who together tell a story of doctors and nurses drafted to serve in the Korean War.

The set helps tell the story, often with action going on in all three tents at once adding a layer of realism. The play was well done by the high school students and they deserve a round of applause… at least once they get through tonight’s play.
