Bonita Wasyleski stepped up to the stand at the City Council Meeting on May 17th. She introduced herself as a tour guide from the Queen Charlottes who has worked with the Regional District there.

“You have paradise here, the paradise that you have here is beyond what, I know local people sometimes don’t see it but you have to see it. You have bears. You have estuaries out there that go for ever and ever and ever,” she said. “You are surrounded by nature. The mountains are spectacular. People from all over the world will come here. You should promote it.”

She recommended promoting the town. She offered her services to the Council and told them: “You have more then Haida Gwaii has,” said Wasyleski.

Wasyleski invited anyone who wished to pick her brain to do so. Acting Mayor Rob Goffinet welcomed her to Kitimat.
