Sacred Circle Residents have been invited to the Solidarity Gathering of Nations on May 29th at the Haisla Recreation Centre in Kitamaat Village.

“Between the Gitga'at of Hartley Bay and the Haisla here in Kitamaat, we’re inviting everyone from the First Nations Communities, and from the non First Nations Communities, to come to Kitamaat and join us. The day will consist of a number of presentations,” said Kitamaat Councillor Gerald Amos on May 8th.

“We’ll have a day to reflect on the tanker ban the Coastal First Nations announced in March and we’ll end the day with a feast with all of the fresh food that Hartley Bay and Kitamaat can produce.”

The Day begins at 9:00 am and Dinner will be served at 4:30 pm. Presenters include Art Sterritt of the Coastal First Nations, Guujaawa, member of the Council of the Haida Nation, Dr. David Suzuki, representatives of the BC First Nations Summit, and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Severn Cullis-Suzuki, Rick Steiner and Rikki Ott of Alaska and Norm Hann from Stand Up 4 Great Bear.
