Festivals Kitimat has started planning for another great celebration for Canada’s 143rd Birthday. The District of Kitimat is pleased to be working with Kinsmen Club of Kitimat again this year to make this Canada Days Celebrations the best one yet.
The Kinsmen Club of Kitimat has announced their theme for the parade this year … “2010 to Way Back When”! Come and gather up your crew and celebrate what Kitimat is now and what we were then, over 50 years ago. The Dragon Boat Challenge is will be battling for supremacy on the waves at Minette Bay Marina and the All West Trading log sort yard, on Saturday, July 10th. Gather up a group of friends, co-workers or relatives and create a dynamic team and contact Ruth Mills ,,, 250-632-1025 or Dwight Magee ,,, 250-632-1796.
The Festivals Kitimat office is now opened for the next two months in Kitimat’s City Centre Mall between Beitz Computers and Fields. If you have any questions or to discuss any ideas on how you or a community group may want to participate in the Canada Day Celebration on July 1st, 2010, we will advertise it for you. Come in and talk to Marcy Rice, Coordinator for Festivals Kitimat or Leah Kolodinski, Festivals Kitimat Assistant, and they will answer any questions you have. The office address is 253 City Centre Mall and the hours are 9:30am-12:30 and 1:30pm-5:30pm.
Forms are now available at the office for performers, musicians, vendors, community groups, sponsors, and parade participants. The forms can also be picked up at Riverlodge Recreation Centre and Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex.
