Gymnasts from across Northern BC met in Kitimat on Saturday, April 24th for the Annual Kitimat Dynamic Gymnastics Spring Fling.

“It’s our annual meet, Spring Fling invitational for the Kitimat Dynamic gymnastics club. For the last two years, we’ve done our meet in our facilities. This year, we came back to the high school,” Said Laura Tailor, head coach.

In addition to the Kitimat Dynamic’s Gymnastics Club, three other teams came out to participate, the Terrace Peaks, the Smithers Saltos and the Prince George Gymnastics Club. 83 participants were signed up to compete.

The competition was divided into different age groups and different levels. Boy’s gymnastics were the first to compete on the floor, the vault, the mushroom, the high bar, the rings and the parallel bars followed by a display by the girls on the floor, uneven bars, vault and beam.

In the afternoon, the Gym start program tested the skills and abilities of the newer generations of gymnastics.

The Kitimat Dynamic Gymnastics Club has been doing well this year. Their high school team placed 2nd overall in all of BC. The kids also preformed well in a meet in Surry and provincials in Langley with the boys in first and in second place.

Tailor would like to thank the sponsors who made the meet possible.
