The Kitimat Public Library hosted the BC Book Prizes tour on Monday, April 12th at 7 pm. Four authors who were shortlisted for awards came to Northern BC to meet with readers and discuss their work.

"We have four authors and their all finalists for the BC Book Prizes for various awards," said Bryan Pike. "Today we did a high school and an Elementary school in Terrace and a High School and an Elementary School here and each of the Authors will be reading briefly from their books and then there will be a Q&A and book sales afterwards."

This years authors included Kristine Butcher, writer of Return to Bone Tree Hill which was nominated for the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize, Michael Turner who wrote 8x10, nominated for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, Kari Lynn Winters who wrote On My Walk which was nominated for the Kristi Harris Illustrated Children's Literature prize and Cathleen With, writer of Having Faith in the Polar Girl's Prison, also nominated for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize.

Another author present in the crowd was local writer Eden Robinson who took part in the presentation. This year, the "Adopt a Library" went to Kitimat City High for their library.
