NEWS RELEASE · 18th March 2010
Office of the Premier
Premier Gordon Campbell issued the following statement today commemorating North Vancouver's Lauren Woolstencroft's unprecedented third gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games:

"Congratulations to Lauren Woolstencroft on following up her two earlier gold medal runs with a third today in Women's Downhill (standing). Lauren has made history today by becoming the first Canadian ever to win three gold medals in one Paralympic Winter Games, and it's a particularly special accomplishment because she did it on home soil.

"British Columbians and Canadians cheered for Lauren as she showed once again that she's one of the best athletes in the world.

"This is a proud Paralympic moment for all of Canada, and especially for Lauren, her family, her supporters and teammates."
