The BC Winter Games were in Terrace last weekend. The final event to complete in Kitimat was the Archery competition. Young men and women from across the province came out to take their best shot at medals in three categories.
“BC Winter Games are indoor competition, the archers are shooting 18 meters indoors. They shoot around 30 arrows, 3 arrows per end. A perfect score would be three hundred for them. They have two minutes to shoot three arrows,“ said Ken Cameron, President of the BC Archery Association.
The archers were divided into bare bow, re-curve bow and compound bows. On the final day, the top four archers shot head to head for gold, silver and bronze.
“It’s probably one of the safest sports there is,” said Cameron.
