School District 82 is making plans for the future of Sacred Circle Youth through all day Kindergarten. The program is scheduled to start in September 2010.

“There will be all day Kindergarten in all three Kitimat public schools and that was the decision of the board on Wednesday night.  The government gave us 224 spots so other than 2 schools in Terrace, all the other Coast Mountain Schools will have all day Kindergarten,” said School Trustee Chair Barry Pankhurst.

The school board did not get the budget they needed to cover all the schools in the Sacred Circle but Pankhurst suggested they will look at the budget to have the two schools in Terrace provide all day Kindergarten by September 2011.

However, once full day Kindergarten is implemented, there will not be an option for half day kindergarten for parents.
