Kitimat City Council meets tonight at 7:30 pm at the Council Chambers in the Public Safety Building. Here is a taste of whatís on the agenda.

There are three presentations on the agenda. Staff Sergent Steve Corp is giving his monthly policing report, Bill Dawson is speaking to council on the potential cutbacks and Barb Campbell is speaking about the Kitimat Softball Associationís grant request.

Under motions, Councillor Mario Feldhoff wishes to clarify a motion on looking at the viability of Methanol and Ammonia production in Kitimat.

There are 6 reports. The first is the above grant request. Following that is a report on potentially changing how the District of Kitimat hands out promotional Kitimat Pins to clubs and organizations that request them. Next comes a request from the Fire Department for a resolution to apply for a fireworks grant for Canada Day.

The topic of Council Remuneration is up for discussion tonight as well as the five year financial plan. Finally, the statement of accounts for January needs approval.

Communications is a collection of membership dues for both the Union of BC Municipalities and the North Central Local Government Association as well as resolutions and nominations for the latter of the two.
