The Kitimat Museum and Archives is displaying Woman and Her Memories, the work of talented and self taught artist, Sanja Jankovic. The exhibit opened on Friday, January 15th at 7:30 pm. A collection of 30 paintings were displayed on the wall, but there are others in Quebec City that have been given to friends.
“This exhibit was made for a few years with my attempt to make a woman and her memories collection and a few others that came along. After all that, I decided to get them all together because I had quite a few and display them out for the community, nice to see,” said Jankovic.
Her artwork is inspired by the stories she wants to tell with her art, people she has met and the concept of what destiny means. Jankovic stated that one painting among her favourites is Sad news because she feels that it conveys both sadness due to a loss, and hope for the future as well.
“It’s just my hobby. It's just something I do, it’s nothing serious. It makes me happy.” said Jankovic.

I am so happy to see Sanja sharing her talent with others.
It's amazing to see what a skilled hand and an open mind could do in one night. Yes, rare are the paintings she doesn't complete in one night. Amazing! :)
Ex-Yugo, QC, Kitimat-all are proud of our Sanja :)
