REPORTING · 10th January 2010
Walter McFarlane
The topic of getting a resident from Kitimat to become a member of the Northern Health Board of Directors was brought up again today, January 9th, at the Kitimat Health Advocacy Group Meeting.

“Over the last two or three meetings, we have been trying to get a board member nominated from Ktiimat to sit on the Northern Health Board that oversees everything from Haida Gwaii to the Alberta Boarder. Mayor Monaghan and myself over the last two meetings have accepted privately four names,” said Rob Goffinet, Chair of KHAG.

All of those who have been approached so far have respectfully declined. Goffinet explained that the process would be for them to contact the person and ask if they would be interested in becoming a board member for NHA, show them the requirements and the paperwork. The candidate would have to look at the big picture from Ocean to Boarder and advocate around the North.
