Well Folks, it’s that time of year again; time to start thinking about Relay For Life. And what’s exciting is that the early-bird registration of $10 has been extended to January 31st. Now is the time for individuals and teams to sign up for the May 8, 2010 Kitimat Relay For Life. And it’s so easy. Go to, under “choose Province” click on “British Columbia/Yukon”, and then under “select your community” click on “Kitimat” and follow the instructions.

Relay for Life is the biggest cancer fundraiser in Canada. It is held in more than 400 communities across the country. The Canadian Cancer Society funds the best cancer research in Canada and supports local programs and services that help people living with cancer.

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

Relay is fun, fulfilling, and your participation gives strength to our mission to eradicate cancer. Walk with us in this inspirational 12-hour event as we come together and fight to make cancer history.

We celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer. Cancer survivors join together at Relay For Life to walk the Survivors' Victory Lap - the first lap of the event. Their strength and courage gives hope to others.

We remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay For Life, luminaries are lit during a moving ceremony at dusk. Their light pays tribute to loved ones and provides inspiration to participants all night long.

We Relay (fight back) because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease. It’s an opportunity for you to make a personal contribution and take action.

This year will be our 11th event and we will surpass the $1,000,000 mark. To date we have raised $971,174.00, a great accomplishment for our small community.
