Cash donations can still be dropped off at the Bank of Commerce or mailed to the Food Bank, Box 20, V8C 1G6. Non-perishable food items brought in to Advantage Wing’s Travel or Dairy Queen until end of the week will be used at the Food Bank in 2010. Naturally we accept food and cash donations throughout the year.
Thank you for your ongoing sharing and caring – without all of you the Food Bank could not continue to function. Thank you to all the volunteers who have so generously given of their time, this past week in particular, helping to set up tables, sorting and wrapping gifts, taping boxes, sorting food, packing hampers and on Saturday delivering 325 hampers. Once again we would like to thank Christ the King Catholic Church for the use of their hall during “hamper” week. It is so wonderful to have the space and be able to set everything out in preparation for delivery. The many doors make it very easy to back vehicles up for loading. Thank you to Daybreak Farms for donating eggs throughout the year. Thank you to all the churches for the ongoing donations of food all year long and for the volunteers who ‘man’ the Food Bank on a weekly basis. We would especially like to thank all the media who “get the word out” as this is so very important in keeping the public aware of the needs in our community. There will be a write-up in the new year with our final total.
May you all have a very blessed Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy 2010.
