REPORTING · 9th December 2009
Mike Forward
For the first time in Kitimat's recent history, tournament hockey is open adults 18 and up in the first ever 4-on-4 Winter Classic!

With games played on the weekend of December 18th, 19th and 20th, the 4-on-4 Winter Classic gurantees four games to each team that registers. Also possible is a semi-final game for the top four teams, and a final played between the top two to determine the winner of the tournament making for a total possible maximum of 6 games.

The roster maximum for the tournament is 12 skaters per team plus 1 goaltender. The cost per team is $1008.00(GST included), or $84.00 per player. There is a trophy to be won by the victorious team at the tournament!

The tournament is meant purely for fun, recreational hockey for people of all talent levels. Beginners through experienced hockey players are all encouraged to join, including those not from the Kitimat region. The tournament is open to any and all comers!

Teams can registered at the Tamitik/Jubilee Complex or Riverlodge.

The idea for the tournament was conceived by Chad Fournier and Mike Forward, who wanted to start a tournament outside of the times that Kitimat's Weekend Hockey League usually runs, and that is open to participation for all players over the age of 18.
